Astar’s selection of Mandarin Chinese language and cultural programs will help you learn to negotiate Chinese culture while studying the beautiful language of oriental poets, philosophers, and ancient religions. Astar offers a rich selection of Chinese language and cultural programs ranging from one hour lunch or after work classes to intensive half and full day programs taught by native speakers. Clients may also request intensive multi-week on-site pre-departure classes in Chinese language preparation for upcoming business assignments or opening of offices in China. Our Washington D.C. area classes can be one on one, small or large group and offered at Astar or your office.

Astar’s Chinese Language and Culture Programs are designed to immerse learners in Mandarin Chinese through class instruction, after-class tutoring, and language exchange with native Mandarin Chinese speakers. We also offer optional Chinese cultural electives and study abroad in China. Our accelerated teaching methods allow students at lower proficiency levels to acquire the language skills needed for effective communication in a short period of time, and advanced students to gain expression proficiency at a more sophisticated level.

The Chinese Language programs integrate all aspects of the language: reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, phonetics, and vocabulary. Topics studied include everyday situations and Chinese culture, society, and history.
